XP IIS Problem rendering pictures with IE6 RRS feed

  •

I am trying to use Windows XP SR3 IIS to serve up a simple web page.

It all appears to work well, however when the web page is viewed from another XP machine with IE6 the pictures render intermittently.  Each time a refresh is done different pictures will look OK and the remainder will be place holders with the Red X in the corner.  If you right click a picture place holder and select Show Picture the picture will come right in.

This does not appear to happen with IE 7 under Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP SR3.  It also does not happen with IE 5 under Windows 98 or Netscape under any operating system.  I also have a small Java Applet that intermittently fails to load.  The Java Console says File Not Found.  Additionally when a refresh is done on an XP machine with IE 6 it completes too quickly.  IE 7 and the others will take a while to load the web page.

I have tried everything in my bag of tricks and can not figure out if this is an IIS problem or a HTML problem.  Here is a link to the simple web page I am attempting to serve up.

Umm, Chris, you do know that this forum is for reporting issues with the forum software itself, right? It's not intended for application issues or problems of the sort you are describing. Perhaps you thought you were logged into a different forum, and if I may suggest, that would probably be your best option. The devs who hang here are primarily those who work with the forum platform, so their brief would not normally include browser issues, no matter who made the browser. Just a suggestion...

    cheers,
    scott

  • Thanks for the information.  Can you suggest another location or another forum where I might stand a better chance of receiving a solution to this problem?
