  Hi Carey,

  I'm starting to move out of my comfort zone here in terms of technical knowledge.

  1. The link you've provided states there is a newer version of the software available, should I be installing the new version?
  2. It mentions: "F6 and RAID BIOS configurations need to be performed prior to installation of this driver for proper operation." I have no idea how to complete this.
  3. There are 3 downloads to choose from? Can you please clarify which one I need to install please. 

  It would also be helpful to understand why this is happening. What has changed? Why hasn't Microsoft released a simple patch for this?

  Lastly, when I click System properties it says Windows is activated?

  You should download the file named SetupRST.zip and then click on it to upzip. Then click on the file named SetupRST to install the drivers. Please note this installation designed for installation after Windows is installed (which you've already done). Ignore the reference to RAID as it will install the correct drive for SATA AHCI or RAID Controller. Why this non-genuine Windows phenomimom occurs without a current Intel controller driver is sort of a mystery.

  If I try and save/run the newest version (xxxx://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26361/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver?v=t) I get this error message: The signature of this program is corrupt or invalid.

  If I try and save/run the older version I get this error message: The setup program ended prematurely because of the following error: This platform is not supported
