  • Hello sparkoflife,

    Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->

    Office Status: 114 Blocked VLK 2

    Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage - 114 Blocked VLK 2

    OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0

    Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-230-1

    Unfortunately, your installation of Office XP Professional with Front Page is a widely pirated volume licensing installation.

    Please uninstall this nongenuine software.

    To continue to use Microsoft Office, purchase a genuine license for Office 2010 at the Microsoft Store:  http://store.microsoft.com.

    Or you can use the free Office Web Apps that are now available:  http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/web-apps/

  • I have the actual Microsoft Office CD with a serial code and everything, in box with all validation certificates (holograms, etc). Should I re-install? I know this computer was wiped clean and was taken to Best Buy for re-installation. Is this where the problem is? After reading this forum, it seems like this is a serious issue that microsoft should take up with some of these computer companies. Thanks.

    I also meant to ask - is there any way to, from the actual microsoft issued CD, tell the currently installed version of outlook that it is validated? Or do I have to re-set up all my outlook preferences after re-installing?

    When you uninstall the entire Office XP with Frontpage which includes your Outlook program that is "pirated" you should be able to reinstall from your CD and product key code.  However if the sticker for your product ends with these 5 characters then your disk and product key are also invalid - V24RF as that is the product that is currently installed.

    You should not lose any settings or emails (save the .pst file) on the uninstall and reinstall.

  • Thanks a lot for your help. I just looked and no, my serial code does not end in V24RF.. eerie that this is in the box returned to us from best buy, apparently they didn't re-install the software using the codes on the cds we provided.. I'll save the .pst and uninstall. Thank you. moderators can close this thread
