Windows 10 opc cant access homeserver folders RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I think this is common problem on windows 10 for whihc I can find no fix.

MY Win 10 pc cannot access the folders on the homeserver.

I can see the server and remote connect, but not get to the folders directly as I used to be able to do until a recent win 10 upgrade. I've tried many things including a  rebuild and SMB settings but nothing works - help.

Please provide more detail information about the failure operation. Do you mean access share folder via Remote Web Access? Or, establish remote desktop connection to WHS and unable to open/check folder on WHS?

If possible, please provide below information:
    1. Detail error message, or relate screenshot of failed operation.
    2. Whether problem happens on other client OS version? Or, it only happens on specific client device?

  • Hi,

Me too - I'm getting a "windows cannot access \\whs2011" error from all 5 windows 10 clients (which previously connected to the server and shares without problems).

I then run diagnostics but the wizard cannot resolve the problem.

I can remote connect to the WHS2011 and i can ping it and vice versa from the clients.

The shared drives are all configured correctly.

    Any ideas?
