Reports have suddenly stopped working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

We've just noticed that our CRM reports have suddenly stopped working and in the event logs we see a message along the lines of

Web service request GetDataSourceContents to Report Server http://[server]/ReportServer/ReportService2005.asmx failed with SoapException. Error: The permissions granted to user [machinename]$' are insufficient for performing this operation.

These reports have always worked in the past and, as far as we know, nothing has changed on either the report server or CRm server to break this. We've just tried giving the [machinename] account full control to the http://[server]/ReportServer IIS app but this has done nothing. Has anyone any idea how to solve this? Can we get any more diagnostic help from somewhere?

    Thanks

  • The answer in this case was that our IT staff had, unknown to me, updated the Enterprise Vault software running on the same machine and that this update had modified the Report Server config file adjusting the DSN entry. Once we reverted to a previous config file the report server started working as per usual.

  • Do you have the SRSS Connector installed?  If so, run the install program and select to repair the component.  This has worked for me several times.
