I have been using the microsoft fingerprint reader to log on to my windows xp welcome page because i live with other people that i do not want to use my computer without my permission and it is also helpful for online acct's. My problem is I forgot my initial password that I chose and did not write it down or do a back up disk in case, I have changed password a few times and wrote them down until I got fingerprint reader, so now although I have access to my computer I am concerned that if my fingerprint reader has a problem I will not be able to access my computer and I would like to fix problem before there is a problem. I saw a page that explains the windows xp disk as a resetting tool but wanted to know if there is a different way since I actually have acces to my computer and am not tring to hack into it.
