Upgrading 32 bit Windows 7 installation to 64 bit

I am a PC builder and have built a system using an OEM installation containing both 32 and 64bit media. The intall was done with the 32 bit disk to maintain compatibility with some old apps but now this requirement has gone and I would like to install the 64 bit version.

It is home edition and the 32bit version is already activated. Can I install the 64 bit version over the top and use the same product key or do I need to follow some other process?

Changing bitness requires reformatting.

You can then install the 64-bit version, and use the same Key - you will probably need to activate by phone and speak to an operator.
