Associating a personal blog with a Windows Live ID (profile) to get points/recognition

Is it possible to associate a personal blog with a Windows Live Id (profile) so that you can gain points and recognition from the blog posts in the same way you get points for responding to questions on Forums? If this is possible how is it done?

Right now only MS employees can blog and receive points for the blogs.
