Add-In For Phone System RRS feed

  • Question

While I don't particularly see a huge request for an add in like this other than me I would like to know whether or not it would be a simple task to create an add-in to access this phone system on my home network.

I would like to be able to configure this remotely over the internet through my WHS.  The phone system can be accessed through the use of services like DynDNS.  If creating an add-in is difficult I'd like to know how safe it would be to install the config software for the phone system http://www.talkswitch.com/support/software_6.00/ to WHS?

  • I have installed and run the 3CX VoIP PBX on my WHS system for quite some time now and it works like a charm!

You have to RDP to the server to install, but once installed you administer trunks and extensions via the web interface. I have no hardware gateways installed though. Don't know if they (or rather their drivers) would cause problems.
