When I try to validate my copy of Office 2007 Professional I receive the message "No Office products eligible for validation were found on this computer."  I ran the WGA Diagnostics and it passes without any errors.  The report above indicates a status for Office of "100 Genuine" and I am able to download Office updates and add-ins without any problem.

  • Hello Bill Pierce,

For some reason your system has some unusual data showing in the mgadiag report.

My suggestion at this point would be to submit a request for free email tech support at this link:  https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=11482&st=1

When they get it fixed, please come back here to let us know what was wrong and how they fixed it :-)

  • You asked me to report back on the solution from Microsoft Support.  It took five rounds of e-mails, but there is a solution (of sorts).  I also discovered that if I press the Back button in the browser after receiving the error that Office might not be genuine I get a message that Office has validated successfully.  Anyway, Support had me run FixIt and reinstall Office.  After I did that, Office validated successfully the first time, but I got the error message on subsequent tries (although again pressing the browser's Back button tells me Office validated successfully).

The next recommendation was to create a new user account and then try to validate Office using the new account.  I did that, and the problem disappeared for the new user, but not for the original user.  So their recommendation is to migrate all the old user data to the new user account.  I'm inclined not to do this.  As long as pressing the Back button after the error appears results in the message that Office validated successfully, and I can update Office, it's not really a problem.  I'd consider it more an anomaly.

So there you have it: perhaps not a true solution and not particularly elegant, but at least a workaround to a very minor problem.
