Deleting a comment from the MSDN Web site RRS feed

  • Question

  • An email I've sent to Microsoft team but I don't think they can help me. Maybe someone here knows:

    "Dear Microsoft team,

My name is Daniel Erlich, I have a special request and I hope you can help me.
A few years ago I wrote a comment in a thread on the "Msdn Web site"
I wrote that comment a few years ago when I was "young and stupid" let's say. I wrote my email address. and now my email is public there and I keep getting unwanted emails.

Is that possible that you will delete the email from my comment or delete the whole comment?

This is very important for me.
    Thank you,
    Daniel"

  • I would email fissues [at] microsoft [dot] com with details. They will need a link to your comment, whether a reply in a forum post, a comment in a blog post, or on a Wiki article, etc.

Edit: Otherwise, a moderator in the forum can edit (or even delete) your post. We would need to know the forum and then try to contact a moderator.

  • If a forum post you should be able to edit yourself. For others content areas I've also had good luck asking here.

  • Hi,

    I'm just so frustrated.

So many people are contacting me about something happened with Windows XP almost 10 years ago!

I tried Microsoft support and although one agent 2 months ago promised me it will be taken care of nothing happened. I guess talking with an admin or moderator is my last resort.

This is the post wherein one of the comments I wrote my email:

Can you help me with that?

  • You should be able to edit your reply in the thread you linked, even after these years. At the bottom of your reply, you should see links labeled "Reply", "Quote", and "Edit". Click on "Edit" and you can remove the email address. Then click "Submit".

Only the person that posted the reply, a moderator in the forum, and a forum admin can edit posts.

I'd use the Report A Bug link below

TechNet Web Site Support and Feedback

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/cc512759.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

but there would have to be some method to prove identity otherwise they'll likely do nothing.
