  • I have just recently received messages regarding this Genuine Microsoft Advantage Software

    Understand your validation results

Many customers are surprised to learn that their Office software cannot be classified as genuine. Our goal is to help you understand the reasons why your copy did not pass validation, and to show you how you can address this situation. Click here

When I follow the above link it tells me to uninstall Office

I have spoken to the two system administrators for our enterprise who all tell me that I should be asked for a VLK. This hasn't happened.

I assume that there may be some form of anomaly
    Any help with be appreciated

  • Hello Leghx,

Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
Office Status: 114 Blocked VLK 2
Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage - 114 Blocked VLK 2
    OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0

Your installation of Office XP Pro with Front Page is a volume licensing installation done with a very widely pirated and now-blocked volume licensing key.

Since your post describes being in a setting with system administrators, and since your Windows XP is a valid volume licensing installation, it would make sense that the following course of action should work to correct the situation:

    1.  Download and install the Magical jellybean Keyfinder utility.
    2.  Run this utility to extract the Prodcut Key used to do the installation of Office now on your computer.
    3.  Copy and paste the current nongenuine Office product key into an email, and send to your administrators.
    4.  They should respond to you along the lines of "That's not our product key.  Our company's Office product key is XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX."
    5.  Once they send you the correct product key, use the directions in this MS KB article to change the key:  http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/895456
    6.  After the key is changed, restart the computer.
    7.  Visit www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on Validate Office.
    8.  If the product key you were given is a current valid Volume Licensing Key, your Office should validate normally.

Post back to let us know how you do!

  • Having read the  Bob Romans  interesting replies on another thread, I have followed some of the advice given but as you can see  my Office copy does not appear to respond favourably (correct English spelling)

Might we have problems with MS Frontpage? I ask myself
