Edge Server configuration for LCS to OCS environment

Question
-
I followed the steps to migrating from LCS 2005 to OCS 2007 R2, everything is working once i deployed the edge server, specified the next server hop, which is a LCS pool and LCS users externally can log in without any problems. Since i am not migrating every users in the company to OCS, now i need LCS and OCS users to be able to log in remotely without the use of VPNCurrent scenario right now in my environment and this worksExternal LCS user ---> Access Edge Server ----> LCS2005 poolNow for the OCS user, this scenario is not working, is this even possible?External OCS user ---> Access Edge Server ----> LCS 2005 poolTuesday, October 20, 2009 5:49 AM

What do you mean by this statement?
"Now for the OCS user, this scenario is not working, is this even possible?External OCS user ---> Access Edge Server ----> LCS 2005 pool"
What defines an 'OCS' user versus 'LCS' user is not necessarily their pool location but their Enhanced Presence setting and client version.
Alternatively your simplest approach may be to simply move all of the existing users to the OCS pool, but do not yet enable them for Enhanced Presence. This will retain the OC 1.0 (LCS client) functionality and allow you to simplify the deployment by removing the LCS pool.

Have you deployed an OCS Std Edition Server or Enterprise pool?
Once you have deployed an OCS FE server, regardless of the version, the next hop should be the OCS FE server or pool.

i tried that, pointed the next hop server to the OCS FE, but once i did that external LCS users can't log in, only way LCS users can is when they log into VPN. Is there a setting on the FE server I need to configure in order to route LCS log in request to the LCS pool?Wednesday, October 21, 2009 12:13 PM

went with your suggestion and just transferred everyone, changed the hop address to the OCS server and everything is working fine.Thursday, October 22, 2009 3:18 PM
