Hi Andreas,
I would recommend to install Power Pack 2 again.
If installing Add-Ins, always try to get the latest version of those. I also have the WHS Disk Management Add-In on my Scaleo Windows Home Server and have no problems with those.
Some bad programmed Add-Ins may not only remove themself on uninstall, but also a file, which is critical for the console to function. So if you uninstalled an Add-In just before the issue happened the first time, this could be the reason.

Before you enter the password, or after?
Did you install an Add-In or something like that, before that happened?
You also could try to uninstall/reinstall the last WHS update through Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs to see, if this fixes the situation.

I uninstall the connector software and reinstall it, still the same. I also removed yesterday's update, still the same.
I can log in to the server after introducing my passwordFriday, May 29, 2009 7:17 PM -
Still no remedy.
I uninstalled all add-inns from control panel, still the console refuses to open from within the remote desktop connection.
It won't open from the vista pc either.
What can I do?Saturday, May 30, 2009 4:57 AM -
As mentioned, did you try to uninstall the last WHS update (or even Power Pack 2), since this should rollback to the former version.
Any messages in the event viewer of the home server giving more details, what is wrong?

Dear Olaf, I don't know what most of us would have done without you!
Well, after finally uninstalling sp2, the console works properly again.
No issues at all.
Now comes the critical question.
Should I try updating again to sp2 or not?
And one last thing.
Should I try installing the only add-inn that I find useful Disk management or not?
