How to uninstall Gallery Player (no uninstall option in XP add/remove list) RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • After, I think, last update from MS I have had problems related to Gallery Player not working and get 2 error reports coming up.  A quick search has revealed that GP folded last year (2008) in July.  I want to uninstall GP but the option to "uninstall" does not exist in XP control pannel "add or remove" against the GP listing.  XP media centre 2005 kept up to date automatically.
How on earth can I uninstall it?  Please step by step as am low on scale of working a computer knowledge.

You're off topic for this forum, which is dedicated to Windows Live OneCare. You may want to try the Microsoft Public newsgroups here: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx or pursue this with support for Windows update:

  • Sorry about that but terminology is all rather non self explanitory and I just could not see a likely forum....suggest things need a lot more simplifying an clearer titles and explanations as to what is where.  Will now try and post on forum you give  though why I should be asking about a  microsoft XP uninstall problem on Microsoft Public newsgroups is beyond my reasoning.  Thanks

I would perhaps be able to direct you more specifically if I knew what "Gallery Player" was. If it is a program for Media Center or a Media Center add-on, try the Media Center newsgroups (within the public newsgroups linked above) or the web site for Media Center community, the Green Button. www.thegreenbutton.com/
