Trying to upload a custom report via the CRM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm trying to change a report in the CRM (4.0).  I downloaded the sub-quote report, edited it and went to upload it, but an error box popped up.  The even log showed me this:

Web service request CreateReport to Report Server http://agl-crm/reportserver/ReportService2005.asmx failed with SoapException. Error: The report definition is not valid.  Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/reportdefinition' which cannot be upgraded.

I think this could be some kind of version mismatch problem.  The version of MS CRM we're using is 4.0, SQL Server is 2008 and I edited the report in MS SQL Server 2008 R2 Report Builder 3.0 before trying to upload it.  I tried to download the report on the actual server that the CRM and SQL Server runs on and edit in in SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio.  When I went to open Business Intelligence Dev Studio it seemed to just open an instance of Visual Studio 2008.  When I tried to open the report in that program instead, it opened it as an XML file which isn't particularly useful.

I just need to be able to edit the file in such a way that I can reupload it to MS CRM having made my changes.

    Thank you in advance!
