Equipt vs. Office Home and Student 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is the Office portion of Equipt through an asp?  We called the Circuit City 800 # to ask after seeing both products in their circular this weekend and the Circuit City rep says that the Office products purchased with Equipt are not actually installed on your pc; he says you have to access them through a web portal...?

I already have antivirus and spyware protection and just want the MS Office products for my return to school this fall.  Equipt is a better price but not if I have to pay yearly fees.  I don't always need the newest, latest greatest features - just want what works!

Can someone help us clear up the confusion?

    Thanks gcole & crew

  • Equipt is a subscription based product that installs on the PC. However, if you do not renew, the subscription ends and the programs expire.

You will want to get the Home and Student Edition if you don't want to pay annually and you don't want Windows Live OneCare. Equipt will not let you exclude OneCare from the installation.

  • No. I believe it will be installed directly to your computer.

Equipt is a all-in-one application in some sort.

It have Antivirus, Office Application, and a messenger application.

A single subscription can be used for up to 3 computers.
