CRM Manually uninstalled now problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I manually uninstalled CRM using the following steps.
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/946980

Now when I try to re-install I get the following error

ReadRegKey(CRM_Server_InstallDir) failed.  For additional details see log file.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks
    Arjuna.

  • Hi Jimmy,

Can you please let me know the tool you used?

    Thanks

I use this tool http://www.registry-cleaner.net/, that's supports WK8, but you can search in internet for another one....

  • Are you sure you have deleted subkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM ?

  • Yes I have, just double checked.  However what I could not do from the above steps is find the key 059DD8CB00184F24E99A62CF4D6109FA as given in  http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/946980.  This might be because CRM did not get installed properly in my machine in the first place.

  • I had this issue once, I solve it running a Regsitry Cleanning tool and removing all references to the old CRM Install

  • Hi all,

someone has found a way to reinstall crm 4 after a manual remove? Product installation on win 2k8 r2 went wrong and since then it does not install anymore. I think only the strongest viruses are so hard to remove.

On that test machine i've already installed sql 2008, sharepoint 2007 enterprise and commerce server 2009 with contemporary site. Now I can't believe I must reistall the whole machine.

    Someone could help me please?

I have already seen the Microsoft's article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946980/en-us

    Thanks a lot in advance

  • Hi,

Did you find solution to that issue?....ReadRegKey(CRM_Server_Installdir) failed

I tried everything. Cleaned the registry as well. Still stuck there. Not able to reinstall CRM.
