Error: 400 on Mac Live Mesh Agent

Question
-
I'm using Live Mesh on a MacBook Pro. Just updated to the latest version (0.9.3602.818) and am having a problem uploading a file to my Mesh.
I want to backup my eMail client data to Mesh. I've .ZIPped the file (it's about 450 MB in size) and placed it inside it's own folder. When I try to add it to the Mesh using "Add Existing Folder" it thinks for a moment or two, and then returns the error "Choose a different location. The Live Mesh Agent returned an error: 400"
Any suggestions?Saturday, December 6, 2008 8:16 PM

Hi,
The Library folder is excluded, but otherwise the exclusion list should be approximately the same as on Windows computers.
Thanks,

What is the path to the folder you are trying to sync?Sunday, December 7, 2008 12:10 AM

I had left the folder in my /Users/username/Library folder. When I moved the folder into /Users/username/Documents folder, LiveMesh picked it up and began the sync.
Are there other folders that Mesh won't access?

The list for Windows can be found here, unfortunately the Mac client info is a little harder. I can't find the original post (didn't come up in search) but there was confirmation from the Live Mesh team regarding "Library" and I think "Applications" was also mentioned, although I can't be sure about that one.
I've suggested that the official Mac list be added to the list above and the help section of the website...

I've uploaded two folders with another account, with my mac, fine. But when i come to use this account the error message comes up for the same files i uploaded with the other account. Why would this happen?Friday, February 13, 2009 11:04 PM

Hi Alex,
It's a little unclear what you mean - although it sounds like you have some conflicting files. I'd suggest starting a new thread, detailing exactly what's happening so that we can dig into the problem and either help you solve it, or get you to lodge a bug for it :)

What I mean is that i signed into live mesh using one of my accounts and uploaded two folders without any problems. However, when i sign in with a different account and try and upload the same folders, the 400 error appears on my screen. I am using the software provided for a mac with both accounts and in the same way, yet it will not work this account. I have no problems uploading files using the online desktop, only with uploading folders using the software.Monday, February 16, 2009 11:24 PM

Hi Alex,
I think you're running into a different error - are you trying to synchronise the same physical folder to two different accounts at the same time? I think I remember seeing somewhere that that was not a recommended scenario.
If not, please start a new thread from the main forum and possibly submit a bug with logs as well.
Thanks,
Oren

Hi Ben,Is there likely to ever be a relaxation on this "feature" of Live Mesh to exclude the ~/Library/ folder? It's just that it would be SO useful to be able to sync ~/Library/Safari so that bookmarks, etc can be kept in sync across macs. Also the Mail folder could be useful for those with only POP3 mail - then the read/unread status could be kept in sync across machines. In fact, there are LOADS of things in the Library folder that it would be good sync!Tuesday, March 3, 2009 11:11 PM
