Using Visual Studio 2005 I am trying to reference a VB6 written COM DLL, which is used in current VB6 projects. The process I use is to select 'Add Reference' from the Project menu. I then find the DLL I require under the COM tab when I select it to add it however Visual Studio crashes with the 'Microsoft Visual Studio has encountered a problem and needs to close.' / Send Error Report message.
Could it be something within the DLL that is causing Visual Studio problems or is there something else I need to do within visual studio for it to use a VB6 written COM DLL.
