  • Hello,

I used VS2010 debugging plugins without any issues. What kind of issues do you face?

  • Hi,

It depends a little with how you implemented CRM. If you are on-prem, you can attach  to the w3wp process and make sure you have the pdb in the assembly folder. That way you're able to step-debug.

  • I have Microsoft Dynamics CRM Developer Toolkit 1.1 installed but there doesn't seem to be any option to debug when I register the plug-in.

Where can I set it to debug?

You have several options to debug a plugin:

    1. Attach to w3wp/Sandbox process - https://msdn.microsoft.com/ru-ru/library/gg328574.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

    2. Use plugin registration tool to debug a plugin - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2778280

    1. My name is Andrii. Not Adrii.

    2. Download the latest SDK for CRM 2011. It should contain the latest version of Plugin Registration tool.

  • Apologies Andrii for my mistake.

I clicked on the link you supplied to the SDK for CRM 2011 and downloaded but there does not seem to any option to debug using this version of plug-in tool either.

  • Please confirm the CRM version. Install the latest SDK and use the plugin registration tool.

First you have to install the profiler.

  • I don't think there's any need to uninstall the plugin registration tool - it doesn't have an installer, so you can just remove the files. However, you can have multiple versions of the plugin registration tool on the same machine, so there shouldn't be any need to remove it

  • I removed it from the control panel and added the new version but I still get the old plug-in registration tool appearing.

How can I remove the old files?

Can I have a screenshot to see where Plugins Registration Tool appears at "Control panel"?

FYI Developer Toolkit for Dynamics CRM and Plugin Registration Tool is not the same.
