Cannot enable users for communication RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I made a lab installation of OCS 2007 on a Windows 2003 Server R2 member server in an 2003 Domain. My Schemaupdates finished successfully. When I look into the OCS 2007 Standard Edition Deployment Guide, the first step after creating users, is to rightklick the users and to choose "Enable users for communication".

My problem: this option is not available on my Domain Controller. Does anyone have an idea what went wrong in my scenario? Thanks,

    Marc

  • You'd have to install AdminTools.msi on your DC.

    It's in \setup\i386\setup\admintools.msi

  • You say that you have only updated your schema. Did you perform the rest of the OCS setup? Install, activate, configure, etc?

Also, is this server 64-bit? Check the FAQs on how to open ADUC for OCS on a 64 Bit server.

  • I made a complete setup and configuration of the OCS Standard Edition. The problem was that I had to install the admintools.msi on my domain controller. Afterwards everything went fine.

    Thanx,

    Marc
