Managed Security Roles are deleteable imported by Managed Solution RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Experts,

I am using CRM 2011 On Premise. I included an Entity and a Security Role in my solution on Dev Environment. I exported as a Managed solution to import it onto TEST Org. I cannot delete managed entity as expected but I can delete managed security role from TEST org. Is it a correct behaviour? I have System Administrator role assigned to me.

    Thanks in advance.

Answers

  • This is correct behavior.

You canset the permission on the entity or security role for managed behavior.

  • There's not always a good answer to a 'why' question, especially regarding default behaviour. Deleting an entity necessarily also involves data loss, but deleting a role doesn't, so that may be a reason

  • Hi Rune

    Many thanks for your answer.

I left the default settings for both entity and security role i.e. Customizable is True for both of them. Why they behave differently then i.e. entity cannot be deleted but security role can be deleted.

I encountered this recently as a tester accidently deleted a main security role making the test system unusable.

    Thanks in advance.
