Windows Phone 8.1 -> 8.0 downgrade RRS feed

Answers

  • If your device has officially received the update to 8.1 the Nokia Software Recovery Tool will install that version of the OS (it always installes the latest publicly released one). There is no officially supported way of downgrading the phone OS in that case.

You can still install the WP8.0 version of the Emulators to do testing against that version of the OS. You might want to look at OS hacking sites like xda-developers as they might know of ways to do a downgrade in another way.

  • Hi Oleg kurzov,

This forum is used to discuss the question abouts developing Windows Phone apps. For your question, it will be better for you to post it to the the Windows Phone forum on http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone. Then you will get good replies from the experts.

    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Hello, Oliver.

Yeah, we already have WP8.0 emulators, but we need real device with 8.0 :)

Also I thought about hacking sites and now, I reckon, I don't have another official way to do that.

Thank you. I'll mark your post as answer tomorrow, maybe someone from MS suggest me something during this time.
