Can't get reinstall in a different server to run RRS feed

  • Question

  • My old server gave up the ghost & I had to put the computer in the "round " file". I am trying to reinstall WHS from the original disk, which I purchased & used in the past. I'm unable to get the new server to connect to the Cisco Linksys E2000, which has worked with the previous server no problem. The new server is a much later HP, than the old one. I realize it is overkill, but I have it sitting on the shelf unused. It has a first version i3 540 & is quite fast. It  served as my main desktop for a couple of years with no problem to the same Linksys E2000. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

the problem with the server in case of more current hardware will usually be a missing network card driver on the server.

If you cannot find a Windows Server 2003 or at least a Windows XP driver for that network card, you will have either to get a separate card which is still supported in the Operating system or you are out of luck.

    Best greetings from Germany
