campaign response: lead to contact => link from response to contact problem

  Hi,

  We CRM 4.0 deployment where we are using campaign responses to get students to courses. Campaign response has leads (students) which we convert to contacts. After this link from contact to campaign response works through contact's activity or history but link from campaign response to student still links to student's lead, not to contact. So the link works for one but not back. CRM trace or Windows event log does not have any error about this situation. Does anybody have any ideas, what is wrong?
