Help, i moved my Content to another Domain and put a 301 redirect RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

i moved about 95% of the content of the Belize Guide from Habaneros.org to the new
Domain. guidetobelize.info. 12 Pages will remain on Habaneros.org

For all the content i moved, i have for every link a permanent 301 redirect.
I also submitted the sitemap.xml and the robots.txt. for both domains.

The Habaneros.org was quit good in Yahoo, Google and Live Search.

Was this the right way to do it?

Life Search has only indexed one file http://ww.guidetobelize.info/index.html,
that's just 1 site of 122 Pages and the web site offers content in 2 Languages.

Why Live Search seems to take so long, or has so much trouble, indexing some sites?

There' are no broken links or any other technical problems I am aware of, so could someone please help me understand why Live Search is still ignoring me??

    Site address:

    http://www.guidetobelize.info

Please help and advise, thanks in advance

    Adrian (from Belize)

  • Hi,

I see that we now have 4 pages indexed. Have you looked in Webmaster Tools to verify there are no crawl issues?

A few other things you can do:

    ·         Make sure you are not blocking MSNbot in your robots.txt file

    ·         Make sure you are not blocking Msnbot’s IP range

    ·         Ensure there are no site navigation issues that are preventing MSNbot from crawling your site (partially found in Webmaster Tools):

o   Invalid coding (HTML/XHTML, etc.) validate your code at www.w3c.org

o   Site navigation links that are only accessible by JavaScript

    o    Password protected

    ·         Submit a sitemap.xml file in Webmaster tools and provide the path to the sitemap(s) in a robots.txt file

  • Hi Brett,

    now its 16 Days.
And still just the http://www.guidetobelize.info/index.html is in your Live Search search index.
Because the Site is in 2 Languages English and German, i also need at least German Entry Page
    t
http://www.guidetobelize.info/de_index.html also in the Index, that the People can
    search for my German content.

    Please Advise.
