Windows Home Server OEM Preinstallation Kit RRS feed

  • Question

  • My father gave me two disc's

Windows Home Server Part No X13-61299 is that Windows Home Server 2007?

The other disc he sent me was

Windows Home Server OEM PreInstallation Kit Part No X14-25847

Does that belong with a OEM as in an HP or Compaq computer because we custom build all our PC's and my Dad did have a server by HP but then custom built his own so that OEM in the description, that's the first time I"ve seen that on an actual Microsoft Disc, so is it OEM as in Microsoft or OEM to a third party?

Does it go with the Windows Home Server "bundle" he shipped me?  He has too many computers and so I want to verify what discs he's in fact handing over to me since he's retiring a bunch of computers and software.  Thanks

  • You don't need the OPK.

It's a set of tools which can be used by a system builder to go through the process of installing Windows Home Server and customizing it, then setting the result up to use as a source for cloning. The end result is a server image which will, when first booted, go through the initial OOBE including installing a product key.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
