How can I change my display name in a session? RRS feed

    I tried shareview Beta on two computers. It works fine. But I used the same name in registration. I can not distinguish who got the control (because the same name). Can I change my display name?

    Currently SharedView does not allow users to change their display name after they've entered it in the registration dialogue.  We'll take your posting into consideration for future releases.  Thanks for using SharedView and providing feedback.

    For me it'd be nice to be able to shorten the full name if it was a large group and one didn't know all the people, a little more privacy.  With a group of closer people, maybe there's a nickname that you use, a alias that isn't your name possibly.

    Once I realized that I put the wrong name in based on the email I started to look for a way to change it.  Sorry, unable to change a name to me is a security issue.  If I do not want other folks to see my true name, there should be a way to change it.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall this and it still did not work.  Therefore, this is a big problem.  I believe any product that does not provide a method to change the name or at least be able to hide it should be avoided.

    With Beta 2, the display name is set to whatever you entered in your passport account settings (which you can change).

     

    To change your name, go to passport.com, sign in with your Windows Live ID, then click on Settings->Registered Information.  To test the name change, sign into SharedView, create a new session, then click on Participants and it will show your new name.

    Are you talking about changing your display name in passport.com. then signing into SharedView and it still has the old value?

    my email is hashim_h_est@hotmail.com but when i was typing my name i type it double s ,so my name is hussain not as i type hussaian i waiting your prompt reply. thank u
