Backing up large files (pst) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently tried to do a restore from OneCare and found out that my 2 large pst files would not restore and had errors (or corrupted). The two files are large - over a gig each - and it made me wonder if there is a file size limit? I tried backing them up by themself a second and third time and got the same error so I know it wasn't a corruption problem and must have been something else. I ended up having to copy and paste the files to the new puter. Now I wonder what else did it not back up? Is there a size limit or some other reason why it wouldn't back them up properly?

  • I don't think it is the file size but how you restore files to Outlook. The .pst files must be restored to a folder, then imported into Outlook. See this Microsoft Knowledge Base article for more detailed information - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943770/en-us
