Reporting Services and Dynamic RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have asked to evaluate Dynamics for a customer and to do this I need to install it.

I have a SBS 2011 Server which does not have SQL Server on it and a Win Pro 7 desktop that has

SQL Server 2008 on it and Reporting Services.

I have never used reporting services. After some googling I have managed to set it up

so that on the Reporting services works on the Win pro machine. However it is not accessible from

the server. Consequently Dynamics will not install. What must I do to get this programme installed?

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi,

Why your client don't evaluate in CRM Online you can create a free organization for 30 days, like that you don't need install anything. Come back to your question, you can access to SQL Server of win pro 7 and you don't have access to reporting services? It's strange, are the services of reporting services running?

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi

I am not intere3sted in CRM online. I need to understand how the local version works as i am going to need to integrate it with our existing systems.

First thoughts are obviously that it is flaky because i.e.can't get it to install despite a morning spent trying.

My question was: I am running Reporting services and SQL Server 2008 on a windows 7 pro. I have set it up especially fro this and it works locally on the Windows pro machine. However no other machine on the network can see the reporting services  ie

No because dynamics requires reporting services in order to install and cannot see this the dynamics will not install.

    Thanks

  • CRM Server must be installed on Windows Server (which can include SBS), and the SQL Server and Reporting Services must also be on a Windows Server (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh699671.aspx ). You will not be able to install it with SQL Server and Reporting Services on Windows 7
