CRM 2013 - Opportunity Write-in Products - not calculating

  I am using the in-line grid editing for the first time.

  Can anyone else confirm the following?

  You enter a new write-in product, populate the Product Name, Price per Unit, Quantity  then when it saves nothing happens.

  The Write-in product is there but the extended amount is not calculated. Are we expected to do this now with Portable business Logic functions?
