Getting rid of old servers listed in Deployment manager RRS feed

  • Question

  • After importing our CRM 4.0 DEV organization into our CRM 2011 DEV environment and upgrading the org we still had all our CRM 4.0 servers listed. I was able to disable and delete the CRM servers however I do not see an option to get rid of our SSRS servers (we have a new SSRS server). Disable or delete is not an option when I look at the properties of either SSRS sever. Any idea on how i can get rid of them? I want to have it as clean as possible. Is there any risk with leaving them listed?

  • My guess is that when you installed 2011 on that server you left the old MSCRM_Config database there from CRM 4.0 and those servers are just artifacts from the old installation.

    Reinstalling the CRM Application may resolve the issue. Make sure to drop the old MSCRM_Config database before installing CRM again.

    Alternatively, since it is a Dev environment you could try updating the Server table on MSCRM_Config after backing up the database. There is an IsDeleted flag which you can set to 1 using the following.

    SET IsDeleted = 1
    Name = '<ServerName>'

  • Florida_guy,

    You can disable or edit the SSRS srver only after you have disabled the organization. After disabling the organization in deployment manager you will be able to edit the servers.

    I would suggest to go through CRM 2011 IG [http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3621]
