  • Hello Colin.

I am no expert so bear that in mind.

One suggestion was that my security anti-virus was maybe blocking it. I have Norton 360.

    1) I Un installed my MS Fit It completely.

    2) I then opened a window with the free Fix It Download, but did not yet download it.

    3) I then disabled my Norton anti-virus for fifteen minutes.

    4) I then downloaded and installed MS Fix it afresh from the page I had waiting.

    5) I then immediately re set my Norton Anti -virus protection.

It solved my problem with Fix it, which then worked ok.

I hope that someone agrees that this is safe and correct for you.

    Regards

    I

  • Hello again Colin.

    Post script to my reply.

I had tried an online web site that came up when I entered the error code.

It offers a free check, comes up with over 1800 faults found, then makes it virtually impossible to leave the web site without paying and signing up for a year. It did not work.

I eventually got a refund by calling in the Bank etc. but it was a massive hassle.

As I stated above, I eventually got over it as above.

    Good luck and regards

  • DO NOT EVER do those SO CALLED Online Checks - They are SCAMS. The errors they find are non existant, all they are interested in is your damne dcredit card number, tell them to get stuffed!

There are a number of programs, Foolish. It's "D7" look it up, it can find and fix several problems, but you have to be real careful or you will louse up your system.

Certain Antivirus programs have error checking built in. The problem is, nobody wants to EXPLAIN what these errors are, and we have to depend on these "MS FIXITS" which only work one time out of 100.
