Hello Bulbous,
What happens when, on the affected computer, the diagnostics at this web site are run: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag/default.aspx?
If the diagnostics detect any problems, please let them attempt a fix, then rerun.
On the affected computer, what happens when this site is visited and the "Validate Office" button is clicked?

Hello Bulbous,
Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:
OGA Data-->

Microsoft Office XP Professional - 100 Genuine

Please be informed that your installation of Office XP Professional, while reporting as Genuine, is a Volume Licensing installation of Office. Volume Licensing editions of Office such as your installation of Office XP Pro are not to be sold to individual consumers, and are only to be sold to businesses, educational institutions, and governmental agencies who need flexibility in installing and deploying many copies of Office.
These Volume Licenses should not be sold to consumers because they are not permanent licenses; they are subject to a current Volume Licensing Agreement that has a finite term, sort of like a lease. Consumers thinking they purchased permanently licensd software would understandably be upset when their software stopped working at the end of a lease.
If you purchased Office XP Pro thinking you were buying genuine retail Office XP Pro for consumers with a permanent license, please return the software to the place of purchase for replacement or a full refund.

Thank you for your answer. You are correct, this is a Volume Licensed copy of Office XP Professional, part of a charity open license agreement. According to the license agreement in eOpen: "Your right to run products for which you have received licenses is perpetual, as long as these products are used only as permitted in your Open License agreement".
There are approximately 20 users running just fine with this software and license key. Only this single user has a problem, and I still need to know why that is.Thursday, October 29, 2009 5:07 AM -
