  • I was just getting ready to buy this book: MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-667): Configuring Microsoft SharePoint 2010 by Dan Holme and Alistair Matthews (Sep 28, 2011), when I noticed this:

70-667 and 70-668 will be updated for SharePoint 2010 SP1 and Office 365 in January, 2012.

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-667

that says "70-667 and 70-668 will be updated for SharePoint 2010 SP1 and Office 365 in January, 2012."

So, does that mean that the book just published sep 28, 2011 is already out of date?  Does anyone know if there is a way to contact the authors of the book?

    Thanks, Steve

  • It appears so.  Here's the link to the book on the publisher's (O'Reilly Media) site.  At least Microsoft provided advance warning of the changes in the exam (they've taken a lot of well-deserved heat in the past for changing exams to include service packs, etc., and not updating the MS Learning site).

  • I found steves question on the O'Reilly's site, and the answer seems to be that the September release will not be up to date, and that they don't know if there will be an update but it is likely.

  • Ok, thanks.  I've posted the question on O'Reilly's site.

Man, it must make the author feel bad, have a book published in September, and be out of date on Jan 1.
