ASP Page - Process Double Click on Client But Single Click on Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a button on a website that when just single clicked is flipping the status of a device. Hence, the response can be processes on the server side where the device is located. However, when there is a double-click then the user is presented with a pop up to select some options. Only once the option is selected it will be sent to the server.

An example would be a loudspeaker button. Click it and it switches between mute and on. Double click it and then you get a slider to adjust the volume. How would I accomplish this because the asp:Button doesn't seem to have an option to detect double clicks and process them locally while processing single clicks on the server.

  • You would need to use JavaScript that has an event listener for button singe or double click event, which is client side program against the browser.

ASP.NET can be discussed at the ASP.NET forums.
