Moving the CRM 2011 On-premise Database to MS CRM Dynamics Online RRS feed

    Hi,

    We have a client who has an on-premise CRM 2011 and want to move to CRM 2013 online. I was wondering if there is a process by which the Database of on-premise CRM 2011 can be restored on CRM online cloud. And then use the restored database to create a new organization?

    I know that you can request database backup from CRM online if you wish to move from Online to On-premise, I am not sure if it is possible to do it other way round. (That is to move from Online to On-premise)

    not possible to restore an onpremise db to an online organization.

    The suggested way is to migrate first the customizations (for this it's better you upgrade your org to crm 2013 first) and after move the data using a software like Scribe.
