How do I add a printer in Windows 7? RRS feed

  • So far, setting up Windows 7 has been like pulling tusks from an elephant. It's laden with jargon, requires an inordinate amount of guesswork, is incomplete and unintuitive. I still haven't figured out how to add a printer that I know for a fact is on my home network and that every other computer (all Macs) recognizes but that Windows 7 for some reason does not. It forces me to go through OneNote, where it simply stops. ALL I WANT TO DO IS PRINT A DOCUMENT.

    How do I add a printer that Windows 7 will not recognize? It's Canon MX850 -- nothing exotic.
