  • There are 2 BI related exams just like Shafaquat mentioned, 70-448 and 70-452.

With 70-448 you will get MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) and with 70-448 and 70-452 you will get MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional).

I think passing 70-452 is the next step you can do but it doesn't make you a BI Architect after passing the exam.  In my transcript it says Microsoft Certified IT Professional (Business Intelligence Developer) and I don't think myself as a BI Architect.  Most people tend to focus on 1-2 areas out of (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS/PPS/Power Pivot/etc...).

I would think that most people who have become Microsoft MVP in (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS/PPS/Power Pivot/etc...)  would be regarded as BI Architects.  But that's just my own interpretation.  I would suggest you take a look at SSIS/SSAS/SSRS forums to see who those MVPs are.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi,

AFAIK you need to get Exam 70-452 : PRO: Designing a Business Intelligence Infrastructure Using Microsoft SQL Server 2008.

  • Thank You, as i'm not to sure

Would this then make me a BI Analyst?

or passing the 70-448 only is a BI Analyst?

or passing both 70-448 & 70-452 just a BI Architect?

    or ?

    Please advise, Regards

  • Hi,

70-452 is pro level exam so you will not get any certificate after passing even with combination of 70-448 and 70-452 you will get your MCITP certification and you will become a BI Architect.

I hope this will help you.

    Regards.

    Shafaquat Ali.

  • Hi, apologies if i'm asking the same question - not to clear.

does one get a certificate when completing 70-448?

would this alone be enough to be a BI Architect?

or should one obtain both to get any certification/BI Architect?

    Please advise, Once again apologies...

  • Hi,

When you get 70-448 thats mean you are MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist ) and in combination with 70-452 you will get MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) thats mean you will be the BI Architect.

I hope this will clear your questions.

    Regards.

    Shafaquat Ali.

  • There is no book for 70-452 exam that I am aware of.  I used the 70-448 exam book, plus BOL and Self-Test questions to prepare.

I found 70-452 exam is more intuitive than 70-448 exam, hope this helps!
