Change Settings Problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to Manually set firewall permissions for particular websites and programs and the help file says to select 'Change Settings' in the Windows Live OneCare Dialog. However, when selected it seems to do nothing. Hum.

  • In OneCare, there is no setting for web sites. You can configure it to allow or block programs and you can configure ports and protocols. Web sites are accessed via the web browser and the browser is allowed (or blocked) access to the Internet, so you can then access sites.

When you open OneCare and click on change settings, a new window should appear, but you must have administrative privileges on the PC and in Vista, you must say yes to the UAC prompt to proceed.

If your Windows account is an administrator and you are still unable to access Change Settings, please contact support.
