Reporting Services Extension Multiple Installation

Question
-
Hello,
I am creating a development environment for CRM4 and CRM 2011.
I have created three named instances of SQL Server 2008 onto 1 server. The idea is to use the same SQL server for multiple CRM server installations (two running CRM 2011 and one CRM 4).
So far I managed and all three CRM installations are working. Now I am trying to install the Report Server Extension onto the SQL server for each instance. However I am only able to install it for 1 instance, and the next time I run the setup for the next instance, I am prompted to either remove or repair the report server installation. Any ideas how this can be done?
Thank you
Darren

Hi Darren
The Reporting Services Extension is installed on the Reporting Services Server. You can only install one instace of the Reporting Services Extension on a single server (physical or virtual). So, it is possible, if you have three SSRS servers.
Also to be noted, you cna have only one instance of MS CRM 2011 installed on an instance of SQL Server.

Hi,
Although SQL Server Reporting Services instance keep its files, configurations, extension components etc separately , after installing for the first instance when you will launch CRM Reporting Extensions setup again then setup will not allow to install the Reporting Extensions on another instance and show the Uninstall or Repair screen (limitation from CRM Reporting Extensions).
This scenario is not supported. You must run CRM Reporting Extensions Setup on a computer that has Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services installed. You may also refer thr FAQ:http://blogs.msdn.com/b/crminthefield/archive/2011/03/11/crm-2011-server-setup-commonly-asked-questions.aspx
If you have seprate CRM server for each deployment then you may install SSRS along with the CRM Server and then can install Reporting Extensions on SSRS.
