Anybody seen this error on the device:

Unable to synchronize... System.Net.WebException: Unable to synchronize... System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server --> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it at System.Netsockets.socket.ConnectionNoCheck(EndPoint remoteEp) at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Connection(EndPoint remoteEp) at ........

And this as much I can read on device of the error message Sad

  • I have posted some tips to work with the Ntier configuration on devices http://forums.microsoft.com/sync/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3609978&SiteID=75. hope that will provide some help.

also, please make sure you didn't use http://localhost/..... Nor fully qualified machine names ( i.e. http://myIISserver.myCompany.com/... ) for in your client side references file ( or service.cs ) file unless the proxy was correctly configured on the devices. this maybe the casue for your error.

    thanks

  • I ran into a similar problem running the sample on my emulator.  Since the emulator cannot resolve either localhost or your computer's name, try putting the web service compuer's IP Address in the url instead of the name.  That is what worked for me.

  • Hi All,

I seem to be stuck at the same error. I have been using the read me file to get me through the sample. I have used the following comment

    ·         Enter the address of the Web site that will be created. Ensure that the address includes a computer name (not localhost) and that the address matches the settings in GBADeviceClient\settings.cs and GBADesktopclient\Properties\settings.designer.cs.

and the http:// value in my VS is http://mycomputername/gba

in this case it is http://trushar/gba

and the same string is included in the settings.cs and settings.designer.cs

One thing I am not sure of is that will this example work with Express 2008 database.

    Any help please is wellcomed.

    Regards
    Trushar
