  • Try the Windows Product Key Update Tool. Please note you will need a genuine Windows XP Professional "Full Version" product key in order to successfully use this tool.

  • Also note that if the Product Key Update tool is unable to successfully update the product key or returns any errors, the only other alternative would be to reinstall Windows using the proper genuine Product Key.

  • All,

    I'm using the product key update tool when I get the error. Is there no way to fix the cause of the error and rthen continue with the update tool? If I have to do a reinstall, is there a procedure which will salvage applications, data, and drivers?
