AAAAHHH!!! I need help. windows live messenger problem

  ok. I had a really old windows live messenger. I think it was 8.5....so yesterday I coudnt sign in unless I updated live messenger.
  
  so it went to this site automatically http://download.live.com/?sku=messenger and I downloaded the 1.1mb file
  
  after installing the program it does is auto installation thingi.... problem is it was saying that I arealdy have everything installed....

  so...I try to run my messenger again... it wont let me because I dont have the latest version....so I try the above again..re run the program but still get the above image I have shown..
  
  so then...I went into control panel and deleted anything windows live related..tried again same problem...then went into program files and deleted everything windows live related...yet im still getting that image....its like ive installed everything but its not on my computer...wth
