INSTALLING "LIVE ONECARE", WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT? RRS feed

  • I have a pin/key # for my OneCare subscription. I have looked all over for a site to accept it, and getting frustrated, spending HOURS to do something that should be so simple.(?) HELP

     

    I am looking at your reply on a split page and it says, "You can certainly renew with a key from a store bought copy". So I went looking for "Billing" and it sent me to articles about Bill Gates; nice guy, but I don't need that "Bill"...

     

    What is error# 8004826

     

    Why does my computer keep telling me, "Your computer is not fully protected". That's unsettling.

     

    Once I get this settled, I have to figure out how to use the same "OneCare" on my other laptop. I am not looking forward to that!!!

     

    Humor me, and "Keep it Simple".

  • To use the PIN from your retail CD go to - https://billing.microsoft.com/home.aspx sign in using the Live ID associated with your One Care subscription select your One Care account then select "Renew this service". For payment method select "Pre-Paid PIN or Token" and enter the 25 character product key included with your retail CD. Regarding the error number, what are the four digits preceding the 8004826? The error should appear as xxxx-8004826.
