SyncToy 2.1 on Windows Server OS RRS feed

  • Hi, 

    Can we use SyncToy 2.1 to data from Windows Server 2003 to 2008 R2 or 2012.  

    Kindly share tool limitation also.

  • Yes you can.   There is a 32bit and 64bit version.

    I would install on the 2012 or 2008 server, then set up a share on the 2003 server then all you need to do is set up your folder pairs. 

    However, if you are doing this a migration of a file server from 2003 to 2008 or 2012, I would use Robocopy instead. It is much more powerful than SyncToy.
