  • Question

  • Hello,

I have installed a new computer system with my Windows 7 License. Now when I will activate this Windows 7 - version, then I get the error message that this Key is blocked. Tody I have called the Activation Center from MS and they told me that they can´t activate this copy. I should be go on the website www.micorosoft.com/genuine and make a check with the GA Support Tool. When this test is successful then is my version of windows 7 avtivated. The GA Tool says that my version is valid, but it is not activated.

Before this Installation, this version of Windows 7 Home Premium works fine on my dell computer, but this is broken and now I have a new system.

Can you help me? Sorry for my mistakes, because I was from germany ;-)

From where did you acquire this copy of Windows - it is using a Key normally associated with MSDN-type accounts, and such keys are not for sale individually. If you bought this from anywhere (except through the MSDNAA scheme), then it's very likely a pirate copy, even if the Activation and Validation do pass, the chances are that they will eventually fail. The reason that the Validation passes currently is that all unactivated machines will pass - whether the Key is valid or not.

The machine you are installing on is an Apple, with a BIOS created in April 2009, so it's not a new machine (unless Apple are offloading old stock).

  • Hello _Juergen,

Contact the seller and demand an immediate refund.  The product key is a "not-for-resale" MSDN Subscription product key that is Blocked.  Do not accept a "replacement" or anything like that.

    Get your money back!

Please the sticky thread http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/a2444f34-0aff-4f29-a8ac-67e28b0c0285 for additional information on these type of Blocked keys.

    Thank you,
