How Long does it take your Tune up to complete RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello I'm Just reporting on current tune-up run time.

My vista computer: Takes 3 to 6 hrs to complete on 2 320gig hard drives

My XP: Tahes 1:45 minutes to 2hrs 10 minutes

With both removing files & defrag not being performed do to known issues

The AV scan/spy is the major slow down in wloc 2.0

  • What's the size of the drive(s) on the XP machine, Mikro? And what are the processors and memory for both computers?

The XP machine sounds pretty much in line for a drive of between 120 and 300 gigs, perhaps. I don't think that the Vista PC times sounds bad, either, with 640 gigs attached, unless they are mostly free space.

  • My Hub System Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit on a 3.66ghz Intell Proccessor 1gig of ram 2 320gig WDs Hard drives

My remote System Windows XP Home SP2 on a 200mhz Intel Celeron  786mbs of ram 2 40gig WD Hard drives actually run wloc 2.0 faster and better than my Vista

Wds = Western Digital Hard Drives

  • Well, Tune-up is going to take much longer with that much data. Are you backing up files to the hub PC? You may want to exclude the backup folder from scanning.
