WHS Connector upgrade problem

Question
-
I am having an issue with installing the "upgrade" version of connector. Using the OEM version, I have no problems. After I install the update, Connector no longer functions because I am now running a pre-release version of connector.. Even if I uninstall this "upgrade" version, installing the OEM version will not work. Any suggestions? I really don't want to do this upgrade now that WHS tells me I have to upgrade or the system is degraded.Tuesday, September 30, 2008 6:13 AM

Can you please open WHS on (another) client or logon to your WHS using Remote Desktop, then open WHS console, Settings Menu, Resources. Then please check Version Info. This should be 6.0.1800.0 for all components listed except Drive Extender which should be version 6.0.1800.8
If this all OK try and download the connector software from http://yourservername:55000. This should get you the correct version of the connector software.
If versions info differs from what's stated above please run windows update to get your server up to date. If you participated in the Powerpack 1 beta you may need to uninstall this one manually first!- Proposed as answer by Lara JonesModerator Tuesday, September 30, 2008 3:52 PM

Hello,
you mean, after upgrading the server to Power Pack 1 the connector does issue an error message?
This is normal, since on each client the connector software must be updated as well.
The software can be found in the Software share on your Windows Home Server in subfolder Windows Home Server Connector Software.
Alternatively you can perform the installation via Internet Explorer from http://server:55000/ (replace server with the real name of your server).
If this fails, you may have moved or deleted files from the Software share.
In this case please come back to the forums with more details.
Power Pack 1 is mandatory, since it fixes some issues which may cause data loss.
Best greetings from Germany
